CollierBroderick was founded in 2002 by Pat Collier and Helena Broderick.

Our team is made up of highly experienced HR and Employment Law professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional HR solutions and leadership development services to our clients.

Helena Broderick

Founder | Director and Managing Consultant

Meet Helena, our co-founder at CollierBroderick. Helena has extensive experience in advising and managing employment law and HR services to deliver HR projects such as HR due diligence, compensation and benefits, and independent disciplinary/dismissal or bullying/harassment investigations and procedures.

Prior to establishing CollierBroderick in 2002, Helena held IT and management roles with Irish, German, British, and Japanese multinationals. She has worked with esteemed organisations such as BASF, Smurfit Kappa, Fujitsu (formerly ICL), the Open University Business School, Eircom and Eircom International.

Helena holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Maths, a Higher Diploma in Education, a Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance, an MBA, and a Diploma in Employment Law. She is a qualified Master NLP Practitioner, Certified Mediator, and Executive Coach.

Pat Collier

Co-Founder | Director and Managing Consultant

We are proud to have Pat as one of our founders at CollierBroderick. Prior to establishing our consultancy in 2002, Pat held national and international policy and research roles with esteemed organisations such as An Foras Taluntais, Macra na Feirme, the RDS, and ESB.

In 1994, Pat established a research practice that led him to complete research and policy work in eight countries. He has a Master’s in Agricultural Economics and an MBA, as well as a Diploma in Employment Law from the Law Society of Ireland.

Pat is a qualified Certified Mediator and has the expertise to deliver a range of aptitude tests, psychometric assessments, and 360 feedback from international providers.

At CollierBroderick, Pat primarily focuses on research and surveys to enhance individual, team, and organisational performance and outcomes. With his impressive experience, Pat brings unique insights and knowledge to our consultancy, allowing us to provide our clients with expert guidance and support.

Cara Jane Walsh

ASSOCIATE

We are delighted to introduce Cara Jane, our newest Associate at CollierBroderick. With extensive experience as a Barrister, Cara Jane has advised clients of all sizes on a wide range of employment law issues, workplace investigations, redundancy and exit programmes, and mergers/changes of contracts.

Cara Jane has a wealth of experience in representing clients before the Workplace Relations Commission and the Labour Court. She stays up-to-date on the latest decisions being made by these bodies, ensuring her clients receive the most relevant and effective advice.

In addition to her legal experience, Cara Jane has previously lectured in Law at several third-level institutions, including the prestigious University College Cork. She also has in-house Counsel experience, having worked for an SME engaged in web-based services to multiple jurisdictions. In that role, she was responsible for managing contract negotiations and employment law matters.

At CollierBroderick, Cara Jane brings her impressive legal knowledge and experience to support our clients in achieving the best possible outcomes for their employment law challenges. She is a valuable addition to our team and we look forward to the value she brings to our clients.

Eimear Duff

HR Intern

 

Meet Eimear, our dedicated intern at CollierBroderick. Eimear joined our team in 2022 under the guidance of Helena and Pat to start her career in Human Resource Management.

Since joining us, Eimear has contributed to numerous recruitment and selection projects, HR strategy development, and organisation development. She has also been responsible for organising and coordinating HR policies and procedures.

At CollierBroderick, Eimear has provided valuable support in delivering management and HR services to our clients across a wide spectrum of HR areas, including recruitment, IR/ER relations, employment law, HR policies and procedures, workplace investigations, and much more. She has worked with people managers in SMEs, corporate, public sector, and not-for-profit organisations.

Eimear is currently in her second year of a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management at the Technological University of Dublin. Prior to this, she completed a Higher Certificate qualification in Human Resource Management with Dublin Business School.

Eimear has joined our team to learn and experience the diverse world of HR, along with all its functions and services. She is enthusiastic and excited to learn and grow within our consultancy, and we are thrilled to have her as part of our team.

Kevin Gately

Associate Workplace Investigator and Mediator

Having had a successful career in Policing and Law enforcement in Ireland where he specialised in Serious Crime Investigation, Kevin now focuses on utilising his management, investigative and negotiating skills. 

He joined CollierBroderick as an Associate Workplace Investigator and Mediator in 2022. 

He has extensive experience of investigations across a spectrum of workplace areas including areas related to financial misappropriation, substance abuse, professional mis-conduct, and so on. 

Previously he led policing services in Community Policing, Crime Prevention & Investigation, Victim Support, Incident Response and General Operational Policing.  As a Senior Investigating Officer, Kevin has proven capability in leading teams in analysing, evaluating and integrating a wide range of complex information into a concise but comprehensive report with clear recommendations.  He is wholly cognisant of the legislative and regulatory provisions underpinning such investigations and is highly competent in formalising investigative strategies to deal with various regulatory provisions and requirements.  He is adept at engaging various forensic tools for evidence analysis, witness/person of interest assessment and interviewing.  He applies his expertise in all manner of workplace settings and investigation requirements in large and small companies, multinational settings, the public sector and across various sectors. 

As an Associate Mediator, Kevin separately assists parties in the workplace in effectively resolving conflict.  Operating as an impartial, neutral facilitator, Kevin assists parties toward negotiation, conciliation and agreement utilising a broad range of intervention techniques to instigate or improve dialogue and empathy between the parties.  He provides mediation in a safe, confidential and inspirational environment to give the parties the best possible opportunity to resolve their dispute.
